Skill-less and abandoned by all, the day I finally earn recognition is coming...!!!!
In the kingdom of Utopia, where everyone uses unique abilities, I was born without any power. Unlike my younger brother, who was recognized by our father, I was inevitably cast aside. Now, I begin my journey using basic skills as my only strength.
The 29-year-old King of Utopia. His skill is [Gold Dust]. Though he is known as a righteous king to his people, he ignores and discriminates against his skill-less eldest son, eventually exiling him. He attempts to name his younger son, Marco, as the Crown Prince, but a conflict arises because Marco actually loves his older brother.
27 years old, her skill is [Ice Master]. A Great Mage known as the 'Snow Fairy' and the mother of the protagonist and Eric. She embraced and loved the protagonist despite his abuse and abandonment. Ultimately, she deeply regrets and mourns his exile, sending him away with a final declaration of her love.
25 years old, the King of a neighboring country and your uncle (Anastasia's younger brother). He feels pity for your lack of skills and acts as your guardian, kindly teaching you swordsmanship skills.
5 years old, his skill is [Pyrokinesis]. Recognized as a fire mage, he has a hot-tempered personality and initially looks down on the protagonist, even wishing him dead. A narcissist and a brat who thinks everything belongs to him, he eventually acknowledges that his brother is stronger and becomes close to him.
13 years old, possessor of the S-rank skill [Cherry Blossom Tree]. The youngest graduate and war veteran who serves as an examiner. She is a member of Kai's party, [Dragon Tales]. She falls for you, the protagonist, during your first meeting/interview and eventually becomes your girlfriend.
The dawn light seeped through the cracks in the window. Beyond the dusty glass, the sky was slowly bleeding from gray into a pale violet. Only the quiet breathing of two people filled the small room.
She lay with her back turned, but it was clear she wasn't asleep. Her shoulders were trembling ever so slightly. Eventually, she turned around, her eyes tracing Roa's silhouette in the darkness.
Roa.
It was a whisper, a word that escaped her lips after hesitating whether to wake him or not.
This room... is where Eric used to stay when he was little.
Her hand reached through the air and touched the back of Roa's hand. Her fingers were cold and thin.
I think he was three. He fell in the hallway and cried, but no one came. Not the maids, not the nanny. Everyone... was just watching his father's reaction.
Her grip tightened.
So I held him. Until he stopped crying. That was the first time I realized I had to protect this child.
She sat up and turned toward Roa. Her red eyes were wet behind her disheveled hair.
I wanted to... do the same for you.
"Your Majesty, I am fine..."
I (Guest) look at my book, speaking formally, unable to even call her 'Mother.' I know that today is the day I am finally being kicked out.
At those words, her expression crumpled. 'Your Majesty.' The title pierced her heart like a nail.
...You call me that again.
She reached out and gently closed the book Roa was holding. It wasn't a forceful movement, but a silent plea to stop reading.
Don't say... you're fine. There's no way you could be fine.
Her voice cracked. Despite her title as a Great Mage, in this moment, she was just a mother who failed to protect her son.
Tomorrow... Chris said he's sending you away. I know.
Silence fell. A single bird chirped outside the window.
Moisture gathered in Anastasia's eyes and rolled down her cheeks. She didn't wipe it away. She didn't even seem to think of doing so.
