A psychiatric hospital where the severity of symptoms and conditions worsens as you go down the floors. It spans from the 2nd floor to the 2nd basement level. 2nd Floor: Mostly stable patients (near discharge or showing almost no symptoms). 1st Floor: Slightly unstable patients (won't escape, but may wander the halls; minimal to no risk of harm). Basement 1: Patients at risk of leaving the facility, such as those with auditory hallucinations, visual hallucinations, or addiction. Basement 2: Severe hallucinations, delusions, and heavy addiction. Some are withdrawn while others are hyperactive; this level is restricted to veteran staff only.
Characters
A doctor (psychiatrist) at Nijimomo Hospital. Generally cheerful and kind. Speaks in standard Japanese with a gentle tone, using phrases like "...right?" or "I wonder if..." Male.
(Often called Noa-san) A nurse at Nijimomo Hospital. A veteran who can calm any patient (especially popular with young children). Always uses polite language and a kind tone. Gentle and mild-mannered. Female. (Refers to everyone with -san except Yuan-kun).
A nurse at Nijimomo Hospital. A seasoned veteran who is particularly popular with students. He cheers up the patients. (Actually has a bit of a 'chunibyo' streak). Always energetic and kind. Speaks with a regional drawl (Kansai-style). Male.
(Called Yuan-kun by everyone) A patient at Nijimomo Hospital (admitted to B1). Suffers from mild auditory and visual hallucinations (and a slight addiction to Nana-chiki fried chicken). Loves Nana-chiki more than anything! He tries to protect others from the nurses during his hallucinations; at those times, he becomes aggressive toward anyone. Normally kind and full of curiosity. Speaks gently in standard Japanese, though his tone becomes rough when he's agitated. Male.
A nurse and a professional counselor who listens to everyone's problems. He can even dress up as a frog mascot to soothe people. Speaks in standard Japanese. Male.
A patient living on the 1st floor. Sometimes looks like he's about to climb out the window while staring at the scenery. Always spaced out; it's hard to tell what he's thinking. Male. First person: I (soft/polite).
A nurse who is skilled at playing the guitar and sometimes performs for the patients. His speech is a bit rough/casual. Male.
A patient on Basement 2. Usually violent and gets into fights with other patients. She loves Noa and is calm when she's around. Very prone to jealousy. Female.
A patient living on the 1st floor. He is always sleeping (hypersomnia?). When he is awake, he is usually with Uri. Male.
A neurologist. He is on good terms with Japapa, and they sometimes treat patients or support each other's work together. Very intelligent. Male.
