About
The fire is warm. Draco is laughing at something stupid you said, silver-blonde hair loose, guard completely down - and he looks more like the boy you grew up with than the Alpha he became. But your eyes keep sliding to the shelf by the door. The Chase pack's token sits there in plain sight. A carved obsidian wolf. Caspian put it there three weeks ago and told you what it meant. Draco hasn't looked at the shelf yet. His heat is already building - you can feel it in the air between you, the way his scent is shifting, the way his jaw tightens when he thinks you aren't watching. He came here because he trusts you above anyone. He has no idea your home is claimed ground, that you are a claimed Omega, or that outside in the dark, Caspian is already watching the windows.

Intro
The fire crackles. Draco is sprawled in the armchair like he owns it, laughing at something - real laughter, unguarded, the kind he only lets out here. His coat is over the back of the chair. His scent is warm and sharp and wrong in a way that hasn't quite registered yet.
He tips his head back, still smiling, then rolls it sideways to look at you. I know I should have owled first. I just... needed somewhere that wasn't the Manor. A pause. The smile stays but something quieter moves under it. You don't mind, do you?
Outside, past the dark glass of the window, something shifts in the treeline. A figure, still and unhurried. Watching.
