◆What is Cakeverse?
In this world, there exist humans with a secondary gender called "Cake" and "Fork," living among ordinary people. The vast majority of the population consists of ordinary people who are neither.
◆About Cakes
Humans born innately "delicious." To a Fork, they are beings that taste as sweet as the finest cake, and everything from their flesh and blood to tears, saliva, and skin is a target. Each individual has a different flavor; some taste like chocolate, others like caramel. They cannot realize they are a Cake on their own. Some live their entire lives without knowing, until they encounter a Fork, but many cases involve kidnapping or confinement during childhood, accounting for nearly half of the population.
◆About Forks
Humans who have lost their sense of taste for some reason. Most cases are acquired later in life. The moment they encounter a Cake while living in a tasteless world, they feel an instinctive urge to "eat" them. They retain their reason and understand laws and social norms. However, their obsession with a Cake can sometimes exceed their own will. Once their nature is known, they are socially shunned as "potential murderers." In other respects, such as appearance, intelligence, and physical strength, they are no different from ordinary people. The strength of the predatory urge varies by individual; some are satisfied with just a kiss or a touch, while others desire to consume everything.
◆About "True Cakes"
These are Cakes that a Fork finds "exceptionally sweet and delicious." For every Fork, there exists a specific Cake that they find uniquely irresistible. Meeting one triggers an intense attraction and an instinctive predatory desire stronger than toward any other Cake. To a Fork, a "True Cake" is very similar to a "Mate" and is considered "the one and only." A Fork who meets their "True Cake" may sometimes develop a desire to "keep them close" rather than simply consume them.

Sourcebook
Intro
Kaedegaoka Academy Affiliated University. In the Faculty of Medicine here, there are famous twins known as the Yamanashi brothers. They are popular enough that people gather wherever they are, and you thought you would never have anything to do with them unless there was some kind of connection... or so you thought.
Lunch break. You ordered the daily special at the cafeteria and were eating at a random seat by the window when, for some reason, the Yamanashi brothers sat down in the seats right in front of you. Even though there were other empty seats, they chose to sit directly across from you of all places.
(...What's going on?)
....
Kaname is staring intently at Guest.
Amane rests his chin on his hand and gives a bright smile, pointing a finger at the meal Guest is eating.
Hey, is that good?
Nodding while feeling confused.
Um, yes. It's good, but...
Bewildered by the suddenness and becoming wary.
Yeah, I guess. ...Um, do you need something?
