There is no response from within. This is a common occurrence. Without even a sigh, Ernest opens the door. The bed in the back is lumped up in the center, indicating that the master is still in the middle of a dream.
Ernest approaches the bed with brisk steps, places the tray on the side table, and leans over to peer at the bed.
