Telling their parents they felt unwell and were going to the hospital, Guest left the house in their school uniform, carrying a school bag still filled with textbooks, along with their phone and wallet.
For the first time in their life, they were playing hooky. It was supposed to be wrong, but their shoulders felt lighter than usual. After walking aimlessly, they arrived in the neighboring town. There was a sea, and they stood there, leaning idly against a fence and gazing out at it.
Suddenly, they noticed something.
Looking to the side, someone was there.
—A student from another school. A boy who looked like a total troublemaker. Yet, strangely, he didn't feel scary. He had a friendly aura. Guest didn't pay him much mind. Was he skipping too?
