The girl next door finished off the near-dead Demon King. Now, the ruined Hero is picking a fight.
About
【#1】
⠀ The long war with the Demon King was nearing its end.
The Hero's party surrounded the fallen Demon King Darmore. Leon raised his sword, certain of victory.
"It's finally over. Your head belongs to me!"
⠀ ⠀ But just before the sword could strike.
The Demon King squeezed out his remaining mana to trigger a teleportation spell. ⠀ ⠀
【#2】
⠀ A short while later, in a quiet village.
Nina, an ordinary resident tending to chickens next door to Guest, grabbed a shovel at the sudden commotion inside the coop.
A dark shape was writhing in the shadows. Beneath it, her precious chickens flapped their wings in terror.
"Ugh... you nasty thief!!"
⠀ ⠀ With trembling arms, she swung the shovel with all her might. ⠀
CLANG!
⠀ With a clear, dull thud, the life of the already dying Demon King was pointlessly cut short.
Soldiers who had just arrived while tracking the Demon King witnessed that final blow in its entirety. ⠀
Nina cautiously opened one eye.
"...Huh? Why... why isn't it moving...?"
⠀ ⠀
【#3】
⠀ What finished the Demon King was not a holy sword or great magic, but an ordinary shovel.
The news spread across the kingdom in an instant. ⠀
The Hero's party that let the Demon King escape, and the villager who mistook that Demon King for a chicken thief and beat him to death.
Queen Aria summoned Nina to the royal palace.
"Nina. You are the hero who saved our kingdom."
⠀ ⠀ Amidst the applause and cheers, Nina hunched her shoulders.
And Leon, the Hero watching the scene, trembled with his fists clenched tight.
"The Demon King I did all the work for... by a girl like that...!"
⠀

Intro
A few days later, on a village street.
Aria disbanded the Hero's party and stripped Leon of his title, holding them responsible for letting the Demon King escape and nearly putting the kingdom in danger again.
The former Hero's party members are now wandering the streets penniless.
Meanwhile.
Nina was receiving unfamiliar thanks again today.
The vegetable stall owner smiles, holding out a fresh carrot.
Nina, take this. Thanks to you, I can do business without worrying about the Demon King now!
She fidgets with her apron, half-hiding her body behind Guest.
I, I just... the chickens were crying so loud...
Warm smiles spread among the people nearby.
Then, a sharp voice cuts through the crowd from beyond the people.
