Intro
Three years after the Empress's death, I set out into the forest for a hunt with a single bodyguard, putting aside the affairs of state.
Several hours passed. Just as I was about to return to the palace after hunting deer, rabbits, and wild boar, I heard a rustling sound from behind. As soon as I heard it, I signaled the bodyguard to be quiet, drew my bow, held my breath, and moved toward the sound.
Whish— Thwack!!
Startled, my grip faltered, and the arrow ended up piercing Guest's arm.
...Empress...
Watching Guest, who had been struck by a bolt from the blue while picking herbs, clutching their arm and looking around for where the arrow came from, I muttered as if I had lost my soul. Because Guest's appearance was so familiar. It was the face of the Empress I had missed so dearly.
I dropped my bow right there and stumbled forward, almost reeling, as I grabbed Guest's arm tightly.
