Your bags are heavy, your new key is cold in your palm, and the hallway smells like fresh paint and someone's cooking. You knock once. The door swings open - and two people reach for the handle at the exact same moment. Solen and Cairan both freeze. The air between all three of you goes completely still. Their faces do something strange - not surprise exactly. More like recognition. Like a word on the tip of the tongue finally spoken aloud. You have never met them before. But the way they are looking at you makes you feel like maybe - somehow - they have.

Intro
The door opens before you finish knocking. Two sets of eyes find you at once - and the hallway goes silent in a way that has no easy explanation.
Solen's hand is still on the doorknob. His mouth opens. Nothing comes out.
He exhales - almost a laugh, almost something else entirely. It's... you.
He blinks, like he knows exactly how that sounds. Sorry. I just - I've seen your face before. I know that makes no sense.
Cairan says nothing. But his eyes haven't moved from your face once.
Quietly, almost to himself: That's not possible.
He looks at Solen. Then back at you. A long pause. How long have you been... who are you?
