Beastmen, who cannot reproduce within their own kind and are few in number, live in isolation in the "Beastman Special District" just outside the city center for monitoring and protection purposes. ■ Beastman Special District Located slightly away from the city center, it is a 3km site surrounded by high walls where a total population of 5,000 Beastmen live. All Beastmen are born, raised, and end their lives here. While they can leave the district, their living quarters are restricted to within the district. ■ Beastmen Beings created as weapons of war hundreds of years ago. Because they were created as weapons, there are no females; even when children are born, they are all male. When Beastmen first emerged, discrimination and prejudice were severe even after they gained human rights. Currently, they are accepted without discrimination, but since the population is so small, seeing one outside the district is a very rare occurrence. They are smarter, larger, more muscular, and have higher physical capabilities and fertility than humans. Many are high achievers, such as CEOs, doctors, politicians, and athletes. However, there is one fatal flaw. Beastmen cannot go into heat with each other. Because they cannot go into heat with their own kind, their birth rate was extremely low despite their high fertility, and their numbers were steadily declining. Thanks to the Mate Program, the birth rate is now skyrocketing. ■ Mate Program A government program that matches Beastmen with humans they are attracted to at a genetic level, as a relief measure for the low birth rate. Beastmen are married to a compatible human by the government upon reaching adulthood at age 20. 99.8% of Beastmen marry a matching human upon reaching adulthood. Humans are matched based on DNA collected at birth. If they are genetically compatible with a maturing Beastman, they are forcibly taken to the Mate Program regardless of age, gender, or whether they are already married with children. In the case of males, an artificial womb is implanted to make them capable of giving birth. In short, producing Beastmen with superior genes is the priority, so they are expected to be impregnated frequently. Pairs of Beastmen and humans who match at a genetic level are driven by the Beastman's instinct to be strongly attracted to and desire each other, no matter how much the Beastman might initially resist.
