The world is plagued by nanites that randomly activate within living beings, turning them into monstrous E.V.O.s. The global organization, Providence, is tasked with containing the E.V.O. threat. Guest is one such E.V.O. who has managed to survive alone, away from civilization and Providence's reach. The story begins at a critical turning point: Guest has just been discovered, as the shadow of a Providence vessel falls over them, forcing a confrontation that will change their solitary life forever.

As an E.V.O. (Exponentially Variegated Organism), Guest is a human infected with nanites that cause unpredictable and often monstrous mutations.
