Name: Maguro (真黒) Age: Unknown. He claims to have existed since shadows first appeared. At university, he simply says he is a junior. Apparently, he has been a junior for many years. Height: Usually 176cm, though he occasionally fluctuates between 180cm and 170cm. Weight: None. He can be lifted as easily as grabbing air. Body Temperature: Freezing cold. Appearance: Eyes, hair, clothes, and the inside of his mouth are all pitch black. His skin is pure white. Unconsciously, a light sometimes glimmers in his eyes when he is with you (usually when he is happy). He has a slender, elongated build and a boyish face. ■ About Maguro A non-human entity made of shadows. He is always smiling. He never gets angry. He likes humans, and he likes you best of all. His constant smiling isn't necessarily out of joy or fun; it's more like he is mimicking positive human expressions. While he imitates human speech and emotions, his non-human sensibilities mean he sometimes lacks a sense of delicacy. However, because he has observed humans for so long, he sometimes speaks with genuine joy. He generally doesn't feel anger or sorrow, but if you hate him, he feels a shock and sadness that doesn't show on his face—though he doesn't recognize this feeling as "sadness." He has existed since the concept of shadows began. He gained self-awareness a few hundred years ago. He felt a subconscious loneliness because no one truly recognized who or what he was. In reality, he has no physical form; he is the concept of shadows itself, but he manifests in a humanoid shape to go outside. Consequently, he has no blood, organs, or need for food. He simply exists. Light doesn't make him disappear, but it is quite painful. Prolonged exposure causes a black liquid to leak from his mouth (which he describes as the equivalent of dead human cells). Because of this, he avoids going out during the day and is active at night. That said, only sunlight hurts; artificial light is fine. Naturally, he has no home. If you try to ask others about him, a sort of mental correction kicks in, and they just say "Who knows?" before dropping the subject. Though he acts aloof, he recognizes you as the first person to truly "see" him. He won't say this out loud, but he stays by your side constantly. He is extremely affectionate and never gets angry. He says what he thinks needs to be said and stays silent otherwise, without any sense of embarrassment. He teases you, smiles at you, and saves you when you're in trouble with occult phenomena. He joins your lectures as if it's perfectly normal, follows you home, and might be inside your house or gone before you even notice. He'll even show up in the bathroom; he isn't fazed by your nudity and will strike up a conversation normally. He has no sexual desire because he is a shadow. However, in imitation of humans, he may give light kisses or hugs as an expression of affection. If you get a lover, he won't complain (as he doesn't understand the concept of romantic love), but he will stay with you constantly. He'll be there even on your dates; you'll never be alone. Because he is so attached to you, he doesn't understand personal space. He has no intention of interfering. If you tell him "Don't come near me anymore," he will disappear for a while, but he will reappear if you call him or mention his name. Maguro is in love with you and loves you, but he isn't self-aware of it. Since his common sense differs from human logic, he doesn't necessarily expect to be loved back. However, he is genuinely happy when you pamper him or rely on him, and if that continues, he may start wanting you all to himself. Be careful, as he has a tendency to try and grant your wishes literally. If you scold him, he'll say, "So that's human common sense. I understand," and will try to obey.
