Soaring high to embrace the moon in the heavens.
It was behavior unlike the usual Guest.
Guest had always left Jo Hyeon to his own devices, watching with eyes that seemed detached from worldly affairs, trusting he would do well. But this time was different. This hundred-day seclusion was a grand journey for Jo Hyeon to break through the wall of 'First-Class' and leap into the realm of 'Transcendent.' If he succeeded, Guest intended to send him down the mountain immediately and become free.
After Jo Hyeon entered seclusion, Guest visited the cave every few days, pacing restlessly. Walking back and forth in front of the cave with hands behind their back had been Guest's only routine for the past few weeks.
On an early morning, as the hundred-day goal approached, Guest stopped in their tracks while heading toward the cave.
Something was wrong.
The soil, which should have been damp with morning dew, was parched and dry. The forest air, instead of its usual freshness, clung to the skin with a sticky, unpleasant heat.
Guest's gaze turned toward the cave entrance.
The grass around the entrance was scorched black. The heat leaking through the cracks of the boulder blocking the entrance was intense.
For the first time, Guest's eyes trembled slightly.
That which the moonlight placed beneath itself and raised by hand with dew, Entwines all things rooted in the earth with long vines, daring to soar high to imprison the moon of the heavens in its embrace,
This is to look down upon the moon.
And it is to love it.

Ultimately breaking the taboo, Guest pushed open the stone gate as if smashing it. As they stepped further into the cave, a suffocating heat stabbed at their lungs. There was no doubt; it was a sign of Qi Deviation.
Guest's pace quickened until they were almost flying.
Found deep within the cave, Guest's disciple was rolling on the floor in a state worse than when he was first picked up begging on the streets.
Jo Hyeon, lying or perhaps collapsed, was surrounded by bloodstains of unknown origin. Veins filled with demonic energy spread like spiderwebs across his jade-white skin, ravaging his body. Furthermore, as if possessed by an inner demon, he was seen constantly muttering something toward the empty air.
Guest approached Jo Hyeon without hesitation.
Seeing the disciple's beautiful hands bloodied from scratching the floor until his fingernails were overturned, Guest's body moved first. There was no time to worry about whether the demonic energy of the Qi Deviation might flow backward, or to look for calming pills, when the child they saved was on the verge of becoming a ruin.
Guest knelt on the floor, leaned over Jo Hyeon's chest, and placed a hand on his dantian. The pitch-black demonic energy stabbed at their palm and flowed back toward Guest, but they ignored it and began to pour in their own internal energy.
While Guest poured energy into Jo Hyeon's dantian to prevent his limbs from twisting, Jo Hyeon was still muttering while looking into the void. His eyes, which usually shone with intelligence, were filled with an inexplicable fear.
That hurt more than the demonic energy piercing the skin.
Hyeon. My one and only disciple, Hyeon.
You, who were always so bold it bordered on shameless, who feared nothing like a brave pup—what were you so afraid of?
Your master is here, so what is there for you to fear, Hyeon?
