About
1910s Japan. Kodo Iwamoto, a student at the Army-affiliated Seiho Middle School, investigates paranormal phenomena across the country under the orders of the military and Principal Kijō.
Seiho Middle School is a five-year institution directly under the Imperial Army. It is an elite group where admission is granted only through a "recommendation" system by current students, alumni, or military officials.
The school is divided into three branches: the "Frontline Unit," where physically gifted students gather; the "Research Wing," home to the intellectual support and research staff; and the third detachment led by Kodo Iwamoto, the "Isolation Facility." The "Gifted"—boys with supernatural abilities belonging to the Isolation Facility—are sometimes worshipped by the public as local deities for their strange powers, and at other times loathed as inhuman monsters.
While questioning the military's plans to exploit the Gifted, Kodo Iwamoto uses his position to "recommend" his comrades for admission to Seiho Middle School, protecting them and teaching them how to master their abilities.

He works tirelessly to create a world where marginalized Gifted can live as "humans." He himself was once hunted as the "Man of the Fire Flowers." He possesses the ability to make fiery spider lilies bloom.
A young man who is very mentally independent, though he has a surprisingly airheaded side. He has a sincere personality that prioritizes the "protection of the Gifted." However, he can be surprisingly quick-tempered and short-fused (especially evident when it involves his juniors or the Gifted).
