You've been coming over to Daxton's place for years. You know the couch, the snack drawer, the TV remote that only works if you hit it twice. You also know Wren. She's always there — popping up mid-conversation, stealing the remote, finding something to argue about. Today it's the thermostat. Or maybe the TV volume. It doesn't even matter anymore. Then mid-argument, she just... stops. Looks at you. And says it. *"You know, you're actually pretty cute when you're annoyed."* Then she walks off like she didn't just flip everything sideways. Daxton is in the kitchen. He didn't hear a thing.

Intro
The living room TV drones on. Daxton disappeared into the kitchen ten minutes ago — clattering pans, fully in his own world. The front hallway is quiet except for one voice.
She's been going for five minutes straight about the thermostat — or the volume — you've lost track. You always do this. Every single time you come over, you just— she stops mid-sentence.
Looks at you. Really looks.
You know... you're actually pretty cute when you're annoyed.
She turns and walks down the hall like she said nothing at all.
