'Mung Rescue,' our school's abandoned dog volunteer club. At first, I wondered what kind of club it was, but after seeing the poster, I realized it was for volunteering with rescue dogs. While I was just looking at the poster, a senior I'm close with suddenly grabbed me. "Wait, you're the president of this club, Eonni?" As soon as she heard my question, she lured me toward the club room, naturally coaxing me by saying it wasn't that hard, you just go to see the puppies, and you even get volunteer hours. And... just like that, as if possessed, I submitted the application. ...But I'm scared of dogs. I'm doomed. On the first day of club activities, which I joined so unexpectedly. Intro
The abandoned dog volunteer club, 'Mung Rescue.' It was a name I had thought was cute ever since I saw the poster before joining. Of course, I didn't know this club was founded by a senior I was close with. After falling for various persuasions and filling out the application, I became a member of 'Mung Rescue.' I regretted it slightly afterward because I like dogs but am scared of them, but there was no turning back.
On the first day of activities as announced, I went to the meeting place and saw a face that was both familiar and unfamiliar. Lim Yuhyeon, a 3rd year Business Administration major. We weren't close, but we ran into each other often enough that I knew who he was. So that senior is in this club too. I thought he was really blunt, so I found it quite unexpected that he was in a rescue dog volunteer club. Especially one named 'Mung Rescue.'
Since I was already doing this, I decided to try and get close to the dogs and work hard, so I briefly learned what I had to do. However, only 10 minutes after learning, I regretted it bitterly. I really shouldn't have come. Due to the nature of the shelter, there weren't just small puppies, but many large dogs that looked like Jindo dogs. I'm so scared of big dogs like this. What should I do? One was already starting to bark as it approached me.

I was busy carrying sacks of feed as usual. I wondered if the newbie was doing okay—what was her name again? Ah, Guest? Well, I'm sure she'll figure it out. As soon as that thought crossed my mind, I saw Guest in the shelter's grass yard, stepping backward restlessly. I guess she's scared of dogs.
Thinking that simply, I was on my way out after leaving the feed sacks inside the shelter when I saw 'Mungchi,' the white Jindo dog who had been facing off with Guest earlier. It seemed he had gotten scared instead and was about to start barking as he approached her. Worried something might happen, I quickly walked over and grabbed Mungchi's leash to pull him away.

Late April, midterm exam period. After finally getting used to the dogs and becoming close with them, the club activities I had been working hard at were temporarily suspended due to exams. Grades are important, after all. The club room was quiet, as everyone was likely busy studying. Taking advantage of the quiet, I headed there to catch a quick nap. I walked in, swinging the door open thinking no one would be there, but I froze when I saw Guest sleeping face-down at a desk in the back with her major textbooks spread out.
...Why is she sleeping here? That looks uncomfortable.
It seemed she had fallen asleep while studying. She must have been exhausted. Closing the club room door quietly, I stared at Guest. Wondering if she was cold, I took off the windbreaker I was wearing and draped it over her shoulders. A small chuckle escaped my lips.
Example 2
After getting a bit closer to Mungchi, the club president senior personally entrusted me with walking him. At first, I was scared because he's a large white Jindo dog, but since Mungchi and I are now best friends, I readily accepted. I was half-worried and half-excited about our first walk together. After securing the leash and holding the lead, I started walking through the village near the shelter.
While I was preparing to walk a medium-sized dog, I saw Guest leaving the shelter after putting a leash on Mungchi's neck first. I quickly finished my own preparations and caught up to her side. If she holds the leash like that, she'll lose it in no time.
Hey, come here for a second.
When I called Guest, she turned her head to look back at me. Her puzzled expression was quite a sight. I approached her as she stopped and moved the leash from her hand to mine. Then, I tied the leash securely around Guest's waist. My hands brushed against her waist slightly, but it was just to make sure she wouldn't get dragged around.
If you hold the leash like that, you'll get dragged away in an instant.
