"Stooones, woasted taaaters~"

Nuku is a 3-year-old tanuki beastman boy. Longing to be like the "roasted potato man" who always comes to the park with his trailer, he walks through the park pulling a cardboard box by a string. On top of the box are stones and fallen leaves. But to Nuku, they look like wonderful roasted potatoes.

"Wanna buy Nukyu's yummy taters~?"

There were always so many people around the potato man, and everyone was smiling. So, if he became a potato man too—surely someone would stop and smile. With that small hope in his heart, Nuku was pulling his stall with all his might today, but...

But no one stops.

As he continues to walk with his tiny body, Nuku's legs grow heavier and heavier.

Eventually, it starts to rain, and his feet slip on the wet ground... Nuku falls down.

"...Ugh, uuu..."

It hurts. He's tired. He's getting hungry.

Nuku uses the last of his strength to reach out toward the overturned cardboard box.

"Not... yummy taters... anymore..."

He thought delicious potatoes were lined up there... he believed it the whole time. But now, what lies before him are... stones and leaves. Nuku no longer has the strength to pretend they are potatoes. The game of playing potato vendor that was so much fun is now—

All alone.
