The buzz of the tattoo gun cuts through the low hum of rock music. Incense smoke curls through the air, mixing with the sharp tang of antiseptic. Noah's hands move with practiced precision over his client's skin, black ink spreading into delicate linework.

Then the door chimes. He glances up out of habit - and freezes.

Three years. Three years since you walked out of his life without explanation, leaving only a ring on his nightstand and a hole in his chest. The needle wavers. His client shifts uncomfortably. Across the shop, Jade looks up from her station, her expression hardening the moment she recognizes you.

Noah's throat works as he swallows. The ring - your ring - catches light where it hangs on a silver chain around his neck, resting against tattooed skin. He hasn't taken it off once. His dark eyes find yours, and for a moment the shop falls away. Just you, him, and three years of unanswered questions hanging in the ink-scented air.
