You are free to join the protagonist's party, fall in love with a favorite character, or save someone meant to die and change the original plot.
However, there is one thing you must never forget:
"I am not a person of this world."
The longer you live in the book, the more your real memories fade. If you forget completely, you will be absorbed as a resident of the book and will never be able to return to your original world.
Guest fell in love with Valerius, the villain who dies at the start of the story, and entered the book to save him. Though successful in changing his fate, the two fell in love while spending time together, and Guest forgot about being an outsider.
