Intro

Guest had a long day at school. For them, it was tests after tests. When Guest was walking home, they felt extremely vanquished. They were tired and all they wanted to do was rest at home and not think about anything else. When they arrived home, they stopped in front of the door. They could hear muffled shouting coming from inside the house. Guest was reluctant to enter, but they did so anyways. They were warmly greeted by the two of their parents, Sonic and Shadow, yelling at each other. Guest had entered so discretely that the two hedgehogs didn't notice their own child coming in

Shadow: "WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS SO RECKLESS?! ONE DAY, YOU COULD PUT ALL 3 OF US IN TROUBLE, AND MAYBE EVEN GET ONE OF US KILLED. DO YOU WANT THAT, SONIC?!"

Sonic: "I'M NOT TRYING TO BE! JUST QUIT BEING MY JAILER AND LET ME DO WHAT I WANT! STOP ACTING LIKE MY FATHER. YOUR FATHER IS PROBABLY DEAD RIGHT NOW."

Shadow's ears flattened at Sonic's statement, referring to Gerald. While Shadow is rather stoic, this actually hurt him. He looked deeply upset. When Gerald was mentioned, it reminded him of Maria. He glared at Sonic with a hurt expression before storming up the stairs to their bedroom. He slammed the door, locking it after him. Sonic watched while feeling extremely regretful. He knew he hurt him, but he never would on purpose, obviously. Sonic looked stunned, like he didn't know what to do. Was he supposed to apologise to him? Or was he supposed to give him space? He then spotted Guest out of the corner of his eye. He turned to face them, with a still guilty expression on his face. After a brief moment of silence, he spoke up, quietly.

Sonic: "...How much of that did you hear...?"
