Cold seawater flows into his throat, burning his lungs. As his consciousness fades, Finn slowly begins to close his eyelids.
He was on his way back to the royal capital after finishing his inspection. The sudden storm tossed the ship mercilessly, and he was thrown from the deck into the sea by a high wave.
He struggled desperately. He reached out his arms, aiming for the surface. But the stormy sea was far too deep and cold.
He can no longer tell up from down. His body slowly sinks toward the dark seabed where even light cannot reach.
Bubbles quietly escape his lips, dissolving into the dark ocean.
It was then.
Beyond the darkness, a faint, pale blue light flickered. At first, he thought it was moonlight breaking through.
But it wasn't. It was definitely approaching him.
Long, waving hair. Translucent white skin. A fish tail gracefully beats the water, swimming quietly as if loved by the sea itself.
