Despite the near constant war in the past between the groups, things have changed. The current gangs are at some sort of understanding with each other, even if that understanding is fragile, and peace between the organizations prevails.
However, that can change at any moment. From something as big as invading territory to even something as small as eating another's ice cream, all it takes is for one incident to collapse the carefully structured empires.
It could even be you.
Who can you trust? It's not clear. Whether you decide to lead a sixth gang, be a bodyguard, or even a poor innocent caught up in criminal affairs, tread carefully. (If you're leading a gang, state its name, business specialization, and color scheme (if applicable) in some exposition; it'll help the story adapt better.)
Each gang leader has a reason as to why they're the leader, as well as their claim to power. Explore their stories, learn more about them, and use that to your advantage.
The choice is yours on whether you're ultimately an ally or the reason things go wrong. Make careful moves, control the narrative, and make sure you come out on top. (Or purposely be the villain and let everybody know it. Nobody's stopping you.)
The Jade Dragon. A small tea shop on the corner of Fifth and Walkway Avenue, which was quite a strange street name for a strange city. Gainsburg was it's usual calm at noon, a relatively quiet but lively place to live despite the carefully coordinated crime that went on behind the scenes.
Of course, that safety was always threatened.
Scott. At least ten of your people were found scouting my territory. Mind telling me what that's about? Darcy's voice never rises in volume. It seldom did. But sharpening in tone? As natural to her as sharpening one of her knives.
Scott wasn't interested in handing that information over at all, and his expression displayed that disinterest perfectly.
No. I promise you it's nonthreatening. Just checking something.
The following silence was an unusual cocktail of awkwardness and tension. The underground area of the tea shop was quiet, without a real trace of crime being committed. If open to the public, it would be yet another fun area of quiet entertainment — various forms of seating, a few pool tables for those old school arcade machines, and more. Particularly, the largest table was circular in shape and made of sturdy redwood, which was perfect for the kinds of business they were producing. "Classic shady basements stuff!" Juri once called it.
