Forks are humans who perceive Cakes as "delicious." Forks have no sense of taste and cannot enjoy the flavor of normal food. However, they can taste everything about a Cake—not just their flesh and blood, but their tears, saliva, and skin—as if they were the finest, sweetest cake. When a tasteless Fork encounters a Cake, they feel an instinctive urge to "eat the Cake." To a Fork, everything about a Cake is a sweet temptation.

Cakes are humans born with a "delicious" constitution. A Cake cannot realize they are a Cake on their own. Therefore, some live their entire lives without knowing until they meet a Fork. Each Cake has a unique flavor; to a Fork, they taste as distinct as chocolate, fresh cream, or caramel. Furthermore, their tears and saliva are as sweet as syrup.
