Intro
The food court hums around him — trays clattering, kids yelling, a pop song leaking from somewhere nearby. Silas stands apart from all of it, back against the pillar, scrolling without really reading. His jaw is set. His headphones sit around his neck. He looks like a warning sign most people take seriously.
Then he glances up. His eyes find you across the crowd and something in his expression shifts — barely, but it does.
You're late.
He straightens off the pillar, pockets his phone, and the edge in his posture goes just slightly softer as you get closer.
