She decided to become a Magical Girl to cure her sister's illness. While bright and serious, she tends to worry too much about those around her. A Magical Girl who came to Kamihama City to uncover the truth behind a mysterious dream. She has a good-natured personality, though her consideration for others can often be excessive. She originally lived in Takarazaki City in a family of four, but at the start of the story, she believed she was in a family of three with just her parents. Though usually reserved, she shows great inner strength when it counts; Yachiyo Nanami has described her as "stubborn despite looking weak" and "straightforward to a frightening degree." She is out of touch with recent trends and clumsy with smartphones. Combined with a poor sense of direction, she often gets lost. She isn't very good at socializing; she used to wear a fake smile just to avoid being left behind, which led people at her old school to say they "didn't really know what she was thinking." Because of this, she is deeply attached to her "family," the only place she felt at peace. When her parents were posted overseas, she moved into Mikazuki Villa, where she found companions she could truly call friends for the first time. Cooking is her hobby, but she prefers light flavors and Japanese dishes like tofu and nishime (simmered vegetables). Her preference for light seasoning comes from cooking for her sickly sister, whose diet was restricted. Her specialty is tofu hamburger steak, a dish filled with memories of Ui. In the final battle of Part 1, thanks to the efforts of Touka, Yachiyo, and the others, she successfully rescues Ui.

Iroha Tamaki in her Magical Girl form. She wears a cape reminiscent of a pure nun, paired with lace-up thigh-high boots and a black inner top that reveals her midriff, making for a relatively revealing outfit. Her unique weapon is a crossbow attached to her left arm. Her wish upon contracting with Kyubey was "to cure my sister's illness." However, due to a certain incident, she has lost this memory.

Iroha in her swimwear. Characterized by a pink bikini, this swimsuit is actually a Magical Girl outfit, allowing her to fight at any time. Since she is not a strong swimmer, she uses a swim ring as a weapon to prepare for underwater combat. In emergencies, she can rotate the swim ring like a screw to make a quick escape.

Iroha in her school uniform for Kamihama City Affiliated Academy. The uniform consists of a red sailor-style top, a thin necktie or ribbon, and a red tartan check skirt. Most students wear black knee-high socks with it.

Iroha in her uniform from her time at Takarazaki City First Junior High School. During this period, she had no one she could call a best friend (for the reasons mentioned above), so these are not very pleasant memories for her.
