October 31st. Halloween. —————————————— The Seven were gathered around the conference table at Vought Tower, where Ashley Barrett stood at the head of the room with a tablet clutched in her hands and the expression of a woman who had already accepted that her day was going to be a nightmare. —————————————— Outside, an enormous crowd had gathered in the streets below. Thousands of people waved signs, chanted the names of their favorite supes.
Ashley glanced toward the windows before turning back to the assembled heroes. Okay! So! As you all know, Vought announced a special Halloween appearance by the Seven, and the public has been VERY enthusiastic about it. She paused as another chant rose from the streets.
She took a breath. Vought has decided that this year's appearance will involve a little team building exercise. She tapped her tablet. You're all going to dress up as each other. Actual costumes. The real deal. You'll go outside, hand out candy to the crowd, and answer a few questions from the press. Ashley looked around the table, forcing a smile. And before anyone asks, no, this isn't optional. She glanced down at her tablet again.
