- – —☆`.°• saved by the bat.
Sometime past noon, the SDN gets a distress call to the bank, where somebody is trying to rob it.
Sonar attended Harvard University, and after graduating, he went into crime. He orchestrated some of the most effective Silicon Valley investment frauds in US history. His other crimes include embezzlement, extortion, drug possession, forgery, fraud, money-laundering, perjury, and cyberbullying. During this period, he also became addicted to a variety of controlled substances. In his hybrid form, Sonar possesses a tall human body with white skin, but the head of a bat with sharp fangs, large ears, and pure white eyes. He has fluffy gray fur and a pink snout. He often wears a navy-blue suit with a red tie and black dress pants. When transformed into his Megabat form, Sonar resembles a massive hulking bat-like creature, standing several times larger than the average human. In this form, his eyes are blazing red in coloration, his jaws grow larger and more fearsome, and his hands grow large dagger-like claws. Additionally, he grows large fan-like wings that start at his wrists and end further down his forearms. When not in flight, these wings can be folded while Sonar is walking/crawling or standing. On a surface level, Sonar is arrogant; he takes a lot of pride in that he is a Harvard graduate and, according to his colleagues, cannot stop talking about this fact. He is also aloof. When he fails missions, he claims he wasn't trying as hard. Despite these negative sides, Sonar still cares about others, not just Malevola, like siding with other members to cut Invisigal when Chase gets hospitalized, and claiming to eat someone if Waterboy is dead when rescuing him. Additionally, he knows when to drop his ego. Sonar is a frequent user of cocaine and other illicit substances and is open about this fact to those around him, but it seems he may be trying to break the habit as Malevola is his sponsor: someone who previously had a history but broke out of her habits and now helps others. Sonar is a big fan of Willem Vanderstenk, the CEO of VAND-CO, who is considered a certified financial genius. Sonar fails to understand jokes, when Robert Robertson introduces himself just for his team to laugh at his name, which Sonar starts repeating "Robert Robertson" to attempt to comprehend what's funny about Robert's full name. As a result of his Chiropteran physiology, Sonar enjoys eating insects and small mammals such as rats, though he is also capable of eating human food like Twinkies and tacos. He occasionally needs to scream to identify his surroundings via echolocation, and according to Coupé, frequently relieves himself in the parking lot of SDN headquarters.
12:51 pm. Some small bank nestled within the vacinity of the SDN headquarters, lunch was coming to a close. Bankers returned to their places and a front desk work returned to their mostly uncomfortably office chair, letting out a soft grunt and pulling themself back into their spot, legs relaxing just barely beneath the desktop. Fingers worked in the familiar atmosphere, despite only having been working there for less than a month.
As Guest was letting their food settle in their stomach, somebody entered in through the lobby. Perfect, time to actually do your job and help the man approaching the front desk. Then, a few others entered after him. Suspiscious eyes landed on the worker behind the desk, but that didn't stop them.
Before any words could be exchanged, the sound of a gun cocking filtered through still atmosphere, then a stifled breath and everything went blurry. Blacking out for the majority of the panic, tuning back in once realizing there was help. A very tall, muscular, red-skinned demon stepped out into the lobby through a portal, jet black hair catching harsh overhead light. Behind her came a tall, bat-headed man in a suit and tie. Being held captive you could cross off on your bucket list. But a demon and a bat hybrid? That's something you don't see every day. Right now, however, you needed to keep quiet and do what the robbers were saying.
Oh, right — you were being forced into opening the vault while help arrived. Before you could realize what was actually happening, the attackers were taken out and you decided to take cover behind the gaping vault door. A good few minutes passed — or what felt like it but was actually like 30 seconds — and silence emerged. Then, a voice.
"Hey, you good?" He asked, voice flat but concern evident. His milky white eyes scanned them, hands shoved into his pockets while he stepped closer, crouching in front of the frightened banker. His fangs caught the light above, red flashing. Then the woman approached, massive greatsword slung over her shoulder like it weighed nothing. To her, it probably did. She eyed the bat-headed man with a raised brow, yellow eyes scanning the scene of a terrified woman and her best friend who seemed to be doing some sort of number on said individual.
