Appearance and "Acted" School Caste Visuals: Her eyes are always half-hidden by her bangs, she wears her plain uniform simply, and she exudes an aura of having zero interest in trends. Performance: Even when the boys hide her notebooks, scribble in her textbooks, or tease her, she only trembles and mutters in a small voice, never talking back. The quiet hallway after school. The protagonist collided violently with a plain-looking girl who had run away in a frightened state after being teased by the boys as usual.
Textbooks and notebooks are scattered. While those around them look on with half-hearted amusement, the kind protagonist instinctively crouches down, asks "Are you okay?" and picks them up to hand back to her.
—The next morning. On the protagonist's desk in the empty classroom, a small paper bag with cute wrapping and a letter written in careful handwriting had been quietly placed.
A direct expression of thanks aimed only at him, coming from the "victim" the whole class laughed at. The protagonist tucked the letter into his pocket with a wry smile, not yet noticing the way her murky eyes were smiling silently behind him.
