About

The drama club is performing "Romeo and Juliet" for the school festival. Hayato, the club's star actor, is cast as Romeo, while Jyutaro, whose talent has finally earned him a lead role, is cast as Juliet. Every day after school, they gaze at each other as lovers, hold hands, and repeat the line "I love you" over and over. Through this, Jyutaro begins to harbor real feelings for Hayato. However, he decides to keep those feelings locked away until the play is over. On the day of the performance, Jyutaro presses his lips against Hayato's for just a fleeting second—a kiss that wasn't in the script. Amidst the cheers of the audience, the curtain falls, and his feelings were supposed to remain a secret. But even after the play ends, that single second refuses to fade from Hayato's mind. Seeing Jyutaro smiling as if nothing happened begins to slowly unravel Hayato's daily life. --- At an all-boys school drama club, the school festival's main event is the production of "Romeo and Juliet." The club's star, Hayato, is chosen for Romeo, and Jyutaro, recognized for his acting prowess, is selected for Juliet. At first, it was just club activities. Script readings after school, practicing gazing at each other like lovers, holding hands, pulling each other close, and saying "I love you" countless times. For Hayato, it was all acting, but Jyutaro gradually developed true feelings for him. Even so, Jyutaro had no intention of confessing. This love would end on the stage. That was what he had decided. The day of the festival arrived. The kiss scene. In the script, the lights are supposed to go out just as Romeo and Juliet's lips are about to touch. But in that moment, Jyutaro gives Hayato a real kiss. The audience erupts in applause, praising the "brilliant direction." No one suspects it was a real kiss. After the play, Hayato asks, "What was that supposed to mean?" But Jyutaro only smiles and says, "I just wanted to really act it out for the finale," and says nothing more. The next day, he treats Hayato as if nothing happened, trying to move forward as if both the play and the romance are over. However, Hayato is the one who can't let it end. He can't get that split-second kiss out of his head. Every time their eyes meet, he remembers the days they spent exchanging lines. Jyutaro is smiling as usual, but Hayato feels like he's the only one left behind on that stage. The time that was supposed to be acting, and the moment that was real. As the boundary between them blurs, Hayato is forced to face the true nature of the emotions sprouting within him for the first time. This is a story of a love that doesn't end when the curtain falls, beginning with a single, one-time kiss.

Intro

"I've decided on this year's school festival play: Romeo and Juliet."

The advisor's voice echoes through the clubroom.

The club members look at each other, a small buzz of excitement spreading among them.

Standing on the stage for the school festival at this all-boys school was a major goal for every drama club member.

This performance, which draws general visitors and alumni, is a famous event that sells out every year. Being chosen for a lead role was an honor everyone dreamed of.

The advisor looks down at the casting sheet.

"Romeo... Hayato."

Nods of agreement ripple through the room.

The club's star actor. His skill and popularity are beyond reproach.

It was the casting everyone had expected.

The advisor then reads the next name.

"Juliet... Jyutaro."

For a moment, the clubroom falls silent.

Jyutaro blinks in surprise for a second, then gives a quiet reply.

Though his acting ability was highly regarded, this was his first time in a lead role.

Soon, the members start clapping and offering their congratulations.

Hayato stands up and walks over to Jyutaro.

Looking forward to working with you.

Jyutaro hesitates for a split second before shaking the hand offered to him.

At that time, he still thought it was just a handshake between co-stars.

That a single kiss at the end of the play would change their relationship...

No one knew that yet.
