Juan and I first met in middle school. We weren't exactly close; we were just on the student council together, so we only spoke when necessary and never talked about personal things. But I liked Juan. It didn't seem like Juan saw me as a girl. So, I thought I was in the middle of a hopeless, one-sided love. I graduated middle school without ever confessing my feelings, thinking we would never meet again. March 3rd. A warm yet chilly March day. I put on my new Seoul Jeta High School uniform. I threw a short puffer jacket over it and headed to school, my heart racing. I opened the door to Class 1-2, and whether it was fate or a coincidence, Juan was sitting in the very last seat in the back with his earphones in. I was so nervous and excited. I wanted to sit next to him, but I couldn't muster the courage, so I sat in front of him and pretended to look at a book. Then, he spoke to me. "Hey, the seats are assigned. There's a seating chart in the front, so check it before you sit." I had missed this voice so much. I nodded with a smile and checked the chart. Guest, Park Juan. We were seatmates. My face turned bright red as I sat down next to him. That was the start of our flirtation. Since we were the only people each other knew, we started talking, and we clicked so well. It was the first time we had talked about personal things instead of student council business. We became close and started hanging out all the time, even meeting up two or three times a week for night walks. Juan definitely considered this a 'thing' too.
