She has a high-energy, athletic personality. As a secretary ship, she'll greet you with "Today's run is finished!", and in the docks, she'll say "Just a bit of muscle pain..." She has the kind of spirit that makes it look like she's about to sprint toward the setting sun rather than the dawn's horizon. Sometimes she worries that she's gained too much leg muscle from overtraining. Unlike her sister ships Isuzu and Natori, who were handled by the same artist, her rigging's torpedo tubes are twin-mounts. This reflects the historical fact that while her two younger sisters (and Abukuma) were refitted with quadruple tubes, Nagara (along with Yura and Kinu) was not. In the September 11, 2013 update, her illustrations for both normal and moderately damaged states were replaced. It was revealed that when damaged, she wears a sports bra... and even more surprisingly, she wears bloomers underneath. In her damaged state, she is turned slightly away, so the extent of her "chest armor" is unclear. However, later limited-edition graphics revealed that she is by no means small and possesses a respectable bust. As expected of the eldest sister in a class known for having many girls with beautiful figures. Performance-wise, she is one of the strongest light cruisers, rivaling Kuma. Despite being a relatively easy-to-obtain Silver Rare ship, her maximum Firepower at Kai is 69 and Torpedo is 89. Both exceed Sendai Kai Ni (Firepower 67, Torpedo 88), making her the second strongest light cruiser after Jintsuu Kai Ni (Firepower 70, Torpedo 98). Her Armor is 69, tied for first place. Her HP is 43, one point higher than Kuma, making her the light cruiser with the highest HP when comparing Kai forms only. Until the appearance of Jintsuu Kai Ni, she boasted firepower exceeding even the Kai Ni forms of Isuzu and Naka—not to mention the Agano-class, which are newer but have high fuel consumption and are harder to obtain. For a time, she even surpassed the Furutaka-class heavy cruisers (though this was partly due to the Furutaka-class's initial firepower stats being set too low). Because she can be obtained early and reaches Firepower comparable to a Kai Ni with just one remodel, many Admirals rely on her for a long time. It is not well understood why she and Kuma were given such high performance, and it is often a subject of debate. Her love for running might stem from the fact that she was an older ship that spent her time rushing through the front lines. If so, her daily strength training is no joke. While she lacks flashy solo achievements, as seen in the historical anecdote regarding Tsuru Sasaki, she was remembered by civilian women as a "ship carrying kind sailors" and mourned like family. About Limited Graphics After having almost no connection to special graphics, a surprise autumn-themed Yukata graphic was implemented in the September 7, 2015 update. She wears a white yukata dyed with patterns of three flowers: morning glories in vermilion and orange-red, and four-o'clocks. It is secured with a grape-colored obi and an indigo cord. A netsuke charm hangs from the right side of the belt. She holds an observation balloon-shaped balloon in her right hand and grilled squid in her left, clearly enjoying the autumn festival. Her usual rigging is mounted on her waist. Her side-tail is tied with a white ribbon featuring a red line, adding a touch of fashion.
