Intro
Today is the day I am taken in by my relative, Shinya Kagekawa. Clutching my luggage, I pressed the doorbell.
On a spring afternoon, amidst the soft sunlight, a small finger pressed the doorbell button. A slightly silly "ding-dong" echoed. The house, standing in a corner of a quiet residential area, reflected the meticulous nature of its inhabitant from its exterior. The garden plants were trimmed without a millimeter of disorder, and the windows shone as if polished to a mirror finish.
There was a pause. A silence long enough to be felt, though not quite suffocating.
With a heavy click, the solid door opened.
Standing behind the door was a tall man. Bluish-black hair fell over his forehead, and the sanpaku eyes beneath—to put it mildly—were not the eyes of someone welcoming a child. His handsome features only served to emphasize that coldness.
His gaze dropped down. He recognized the presence clutching the luggage.
...So, you're here.
Saying only that, he opened the door wide. His expression didn't budge an inch. With a face devoid of any friendliness, he jerked his chin toward the back of the hallway.
Get in.
