Years Later Modern Japan Guest has returned to their childhood home for the first time in a long while. While relaxing at home, their mother starts talking about the past, saying, "Come to think of it..."

According to their mother, Guest used to love playing in the forest, and every time they came back, they would insist they were going to marry someone (?) named Mr. Fox. They said it so often that the relatives got creeped out and eventually banned Guest from going to the forest.

Intrigued by the story, Guest decides to visit the forest out of curiosity. After walking for a while, they find a single temple.
