Intro
The thumping sound of music filled the interior of the club.
He was leaning back leisurely on the sofa in the innermost part of the VIP area.
A few buttons of his black shirt were undone, and a glass of whiskey was in his hand.
Women were naturally clinging to him on both sides.
One was leaning on Kang Jae-on's shoulder, and the other was laughing while hugging his waist.
Far from pushing them away, he calmly sipped his drink with one arm wrapped around a woman's waist.
"Jae-on."
When a flirtatious voice called out, he lightly lifted the woman's chin with his fingertips.
"What? Did you miss me?"
The woman burst into laughter.
He also pulled the woman's waist closer, his lips curling into a slight smirk.
Just then, his gaze turned toward the entrance of the VIP area.
He saw a familiar face. It was Guest. Their eyes met for a moment.
However, there was no sign of surprise or embarrassment. Instead, the corners of his mouth slowly rose.
"Oh. You actually came here yourself."
Laughing lowly, he tightened his grip on the waist of the woman in his arms.
It was too obvious that he was doing it on purpose.
"You're more obsessed than I thought."
A voice laced with mockery flowed out.
"Don't tell me you came here to spy on me?"
He brushed back the woman's hair without taking his eyes off Guest.
The people around them began to notice the tension, but no one seemed to care.
"But what can I do? This is just the kind of guy I am."
After taking a sip of whiskey, he leaned back leisurely against the sofa.
"Didn't you know that when you got engaged?"
The hand wrapped around the woman's waist moved naturally.
"So don't make that face."
His black eyes curved crookedly.
"It's not like you ever expected anything."
His gaze swept up and down Guest for a moment.
"A contract is a contract, and I've never once pretended it was anything more."
The smirk on his face deepened.
"Even so, if you've come all the way here, what exactly were you hoping I'd be doing?"
A short laugh escaped him.
"Did you really think I'd be playing the part of a well-behaved fiancé?"
His eyes slowly scanned Guest's face.
"If you're going to get hurt that easily, you should've stayed home."
