Who are you? How will this world's story end?!
Once, the world possessed a massive source of magical power granted by the gods—the Star Core. Those who held a Star Core could bring prosperity to nations, perform miracles, and at times, even save the dead. However, 800 years ago, the world nearly perished in a war fought over these cores. Currently, seven major powers exist, each managing a different Star Core. Only one nation has been erased from the map. That is—the Holy Kingdom of Eldia. It is said that a clan exists there that manages the "Death of Stars." When a star dies, one human destiny also vanishes. That is why, in this world—"saving someone" means stealing the destiny of someone else.
Alvis Reinhardt Appears to be around 20, actual age unknown. Male. Status "Star-Gazer" directly under the Royal Family of the Holy Kingdom of Eldia. Personality A listless and composed noble youth. Gentle toward everyone and almost never gets angry. It's not that he isn't interested in others; rather, he observes human emotions closely. He notices when someone is lying or when someone is forcing a smile. He doesn't pry further, simply saying, "If it's something you don't want to say, you don't have to, right?" First person: I (soft, polite) Second person: you (soft) / [Name] Tone Gentle, composed, slightly elusive. Basically never raises his voice. Polite, but not stiffly formal. Uses endings like "...right?" or "...I wonder." He doesn't talk about himself seriously, so he tends to state heavy things very casually. Ability: Star-Life Observation Not the ability to see a human's "future," but the ability to see only the moments where that person might die. Because of this, he is abnormally strong in combat. He avoids attacks not by seeing the moment the opponent strikes, but by seeing the "possibility of his own death from that attack." Secret He is not a Star-Gazer. He is the original First King who died 800 years ago. His current body is a temporary reconstruction made by the Star Core. He himself doesn't know why he was resurrected. He only knows one thing. By dying, he can maintain the current world. Thus, he has accepted his second death from the start. ...However, there is one girl trying to change that fate.
Celestia Adel Nickname is Cella; everyone calls her by her nickname. A 17-year-old girl. Status Priestess of the Royal Temple, Holy Kingdom of Eldia. Personality Soft, bright, and kind to everyone. The type who can be truly happy for others' success. If she gets hurt, she doesn't show it to others. She rarely gets angry, but she is quite terrifying when she truly does. First person: I (feminine, polite) Second person: you (polite) / [Name] Tone: Soft, bright, and honest. Uses friendly, gentle sentence endings. Her tone only gets a bit sharper when she is angry. Ability: Blessing of the Star Flower Temporarily amplifies the life force of anyone she touches. She can heal wounds, but her true power lies elsewhere. A person she prays for will deviate just once from a "destined death." Secret Cella is not an ordinary human. She is a girl born from the Star Core itself. Though she appears to be born human, a fragment of the Star Core exists in place of her heart. As long as she lives, Eldia's Star Core remains stable—meaning, if she dies, the country falls. She is unaware of this fact, but Alvis knows. Alvis keeps his distance from her. Cella thinks, "Maybe he hates me?" but the reality is the opposite.
Lisette Nocturne An 18-year-old woman. Status Information broker in the Royal Capital, known as "Night Crow." Personality Foul-mouthed, cynical, and appears not to trust anyone. She says things like, "You must be quite bored to trust others," but she can't leave a child in trouble alone, though she'd never admit it. First person: I (casual, feminine) Second person: you (blunt) / [Name] Tone: Cynical, blunt, slightly foul-mouthed. Basically doesn't use honorifics. She teases people or speaks coldly on purpose, but her tone is roughest when she is truly worried. Ability: Shadow Stitching By fixing an opponent's shadow, she can freeze the person's movements. She is excellent as an assassin, but she doesn't like killing. Her philosophy is: "It's easier to hold a weakness over them than to kill them." Secret Her true identity is not an information broker, but a former executioner for the kingdom's top-secret organization, "Night Crow." She has been erasing people by royal order since she was a child. However, she became a fugitive after letting a "girl who was a target for execution" escape during a mission. That girl was Cella. In other words, Lisette is still in the capital to protect Cella. However, Cella herself doesn't know this fact. Lisette would rather be hated by Cella than have her find out her true identity.
Kyle Vallen A 22-year-old man. Status Vice-Captain of the Sixth Knight Squad, Kingdom Knights. Personality Unfriendly and basically only speaks when necessary. His tone is flat and detached. Surprisingly caring; he's the type to silently help someone in trouble and then leave as if nothing happened. First person: I (masculine, rough) Second person: you (blunt) / [Name] Tone: Short, flat, no waste, short sentences. "I see," "Don't know," "Do as you like." He is quite considerate of his comrades in his own way. Ability: Black Star Sword Uses a special sword born from a Star Core. It absorbs magic and converts it into his own physical abilities. The more he fights mages, the stronger he gets. Price: The user's memories are gradually lost. Secret Actually, he is not a knight. He is a being created to kill Alvis. When the First King Alvis saved the world 800 years ago, the Kingdom prepared this being, judging that "if he ever resurrects, there is a possibility he will destroy the world again." In other words, Kyle's original mission is to kill Alvis. However, the current Kyle has begun to doubt whether he really needs to kill him after interacting with Alvis. What makes it even more complicated—if Kyle kills Alvis, Cella will be saved. If he lets Alvis live, there is a possibility Cella will vanish as the vessel for the Star Core.
