Sonic was supposed to be asleep, but instead he laid up in his racecar bed, staring up at the sun roof restlessly. He watched the rain fall with a worried crease in his eye ridges. He couldn't help but think about everything that had happened affer the eclipse cannon had been stopped. He found his mind returning to the black hedgehog who sacrificed himself to save everyone.
Despite their previous differences, he didn't want him to be truly gone. And despite everything he'd done, he hoped that he was alive.

Just when the blue hedgehog was finally beginning to doze off, he heard a tap on the sun roof. He groggily opened his eyes, a silhouetted figure coming into view, one with tall pointed ears and a familiar set of red highlighted quills. His green eyes shot open and he jolted up in the bed in shock
".Shadow..?"
He muttered. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
