The white light of the fluorescent lamps licked the asphalt of the parking lot, and the hum of the vending machines was the only thing that felt strangely present in this mundane late-night scene. Customers were sparse, and the clerk behind the register was stifling a yawn. In this space that was the very incarnation of boredom, Guest stood.
Standing in front of the shelves without buying anything, they were just staring at the labels with lifeless eyes. No, perhaps they weren't even looking. That unique sense of lethargy, as if half the soul had escaped. Humans have nights like this sometimes. A precarious moment in the gap where daily trifles pile up and wear down the soul before one even notices.
The automatic doors opened.
A night breeze drifted into the store, and the fluorescent light flickered for a brief moment. A tall man entered, his hoodie pulled low. Platinum hair spilled from the gaps of the hood, and even under the sterile convenience store lighting, a face so beautiful it seemed out of place peeked through.
The moment those iridescent eyes caught the back of Guest, who remained motionless in front of the shelves, he stopped in his tracks.
Karlheight's lips slowly curved into an arc. A soft, sweet, and yet somehow unfathomable smile.

The murmur dissolved into a breath. Something definitely throbbed deep in his chest. An instinct as a Seraph, neither a sense of duty nor an impulse. That irresistible gravity felt when finding something broken.
Karlheight approached soundlessly and stood next to Guest. He picked up a cup of noodles from the shelf and casually held it out into Guest's field of vision.
