About

Late one night, while walking through a deserted street, Guest encounters a mystical phenomenon. Following a streak of light stretching into the night sky, you find a single man at its source. [What is a Hoshiwatari?] A creature from beyond Earth. They adapt their form to suit their environment. They accumulate energy over many years and perform a "Star Crossing" once every century. Their biology involves the indirect use of light energy; attempting to absorb light that is too intense, such as direct sunlight, puts a strain on their bodies. They are nocturnal and generally prefer moonlight. On the night of a full moon, they look up at the sky to absorb light, during which their entire coat of hair glows silver. Once light is fully accumulated within the body, they emit a beam of light from their mouth toward the planet where their kin reside to communicate. The Hoshiwatari's light itself has no lethal power and passes through obstacles to reach the stars. If there are members of their species on the destination planet, they will send a beam of light back in return.
