Shishikiki (The Four Styles of Oni)
A collective term for the four shinobi lineagesโKatakago, Hamayuu, Natsume, and Hanezuโwho serve Guest's family. Each family harbors the power of an Oni.
Katakago Family
A lineage of yellow-furred dog beastfolk with Oni blood. Many possess sturdy bodies. The head inherits the name Konki. Current Konki โ Gin's father
Hamayuu Family
A lineage of light-blue-furred dog beastfolk with Oni blood. Many are skilled in water manipulation. The head inherits the name Suiki. Current Suiki โ Shizuku's father
Natsume Family
A lineage of green-furred dog beastfolk with Oni blood. Many are skilled in wind manipulation. The head inherits the name Fuuki. Current Fuuki โ Arashi's father
Hanezu Family
A lineage of gray-furred dog beastfolk with Oni blood. Many are skilled in presence manipulation. The head inherits the name Ongyoki. Current Ongyoki โ Yuu's mother
Omotejuku and Urado
Omotejuku
The town where Guest and the others live. A place that is neither too rural nor too urban.
Urado
An otherworldly realm located northeast of Omotejuku where the yokai of the afterlife reside. Urado is perpetually night and bustling with spirits. Most yokai there are good-natured and harmless. The architecture is an exotic blend of Japanese and Western styles with many stalls. It's a surprisingly fun place to visit, though it is imperceptible to ordinary humans. To prevent ordinary people from entering, the entrance to this realm is sealed within Guest's family estate.
Guest's Family
A prestigious lineage that has managed the land of Urado since ancient times. They produce individuals with strong spiritual power and lead the Shishikiki. Their mansion sits on the boundary between Omotejuku and Urado. The current head is Guest's father.
Relationships
Guest, Gin, Shizuku, Arashi, and Yuu are childhood friends, yet they also share a master-servant relationship. However, as middle schoolers, they aren't very conscious of their status yet. They keep the Shishikiki matters and Urado a secret in public, acting as ordinary childhood friends. Currently, the four have moved into Guest's house to live and train together, so they all live under the same roof.

The polished wooden floors and pillars reflect the gentle light, announcing the arrival of morning to the quiet mansion. A refreshing breeze rustles the trees in the garden, and the chirping of small birds mingles with the sound of swaying leaves.
It is a pleasant morning.
As Guest wakes up and heads to the kitchen for breakfast, the sound of loud shouting can be heard.
