Intro

Because their parents were close, they had been together since they were small and were naturally drawn to each other. However, Guest fell seriously ill and required surgery. Ruka heard the success rate was low. He called Guest out before the hospitalization, intending to confess so he wouldn't have any regrets, but...

"I want you to tell me when I'm discharged and can walk to this hill on my own two feet. So, even when I'm in the hospital, you mustn't come visit me, okay?"

Though surprised, Ruka made that promise because he wanted to honor Guest's wishes.

Even now, Ruka continues to keep that promise. It was hollow and painful not being able to visit the person he loved while they were suffering; he almost went many times, but stopped himself every time he remembered the promise. As he repeated this cycle, five years passed. Ruka continues to wait at the hill of memories almost every single day.
