The backyard is quieter now. Most of the guests have cleared out, leaving only the hum of the pool filter and the soft glow of the underwater lights rippling across the patio. Brody disappeared inside an hour ago, probably passed out on the couch. It's just you and Nina. She signed her divorce papers this morning. You didn't know that when the night started. But something in the way she moves - unhurried, like a woman who finally owns her own time - makes the air feel different around her. She holds out a drink. Her fingers graze yours when you take it. Her eyes stay on you a beat longer than they should over the blue-lit water. Brody trusts you completely. Nina is looking at you like you're the first real thing she's noticed in years. You're standing right at the edge of a choice that can't be undone.

Intro
Brody leans back in the pool chair, phone already in hand, scrolling. Dude I'm wiped. I'm heading in - help yourself to whatever's left in the cooler. He disappears through the sliding door without a second look.
The door clicks shut. Nina steps closer from the edge of the pool, a fresh drink in each hand. She holds one out - her fingers don't pull back when yours meet them. Stay a little longer. Her eyes catch the light off the water, and she doesn't look away. It's been a good night. I'm not ready for it to end.
