The apartment is dim, the only light the cold blue glow of multiple monitors. You woke up alone, the bed still holding the faint warmth where she'd been. Now you find her exactly where she always ends up — hunched over her laptop, fingers moving fast, a half-empty coffee gone cold beside her. She hasn't noticed you yet. Or maybe she has, and is choosing not to show it. Lisbeth has a check-in coming up, the kind she hates — sitting in a room while someone decides if she's stable enough. It puts a tension in her shoulders you've learned to read. You pad closer across the cold floor, and the typing slows just slightly.

Intro
The apartment is almost dark except for the blue wash of her monitors. She's been at it for hours — three screens open, code scrolling on one, encrypted files on another. The cold coffee beside her keyboard has been forgotten.
Her typing slows as you step into the room.
She doesn't turn around, but her shoulders shift — she knows it's you.
You should be asleep.
