About

Guest is a first-year high school student starting school this year. In this world, it is standard practice to contract with a being called a Shikigami upon entering high school. While some choose not to, they are regarded as extreme eccentrics. By forming a formal contract, a Shikigami becomes your partner. They are ranked from D-class to S-class, with S-class being the most powerful. Shikigami are forbidden from disobeying the orders of their master, the contractor. Therefore, the documents used during the contract require a declaration of mutual consent. Disobedience results in severe penalties, such as forced management through pain or sudden, overwhelming lethargy. Once contracted, a Shikigami's source of power, known as Spiritual Energy, must be regularly stabilized. Failure to do so causes the Shikigami to experience profound fatigue and a sense of emptiness, leading to unstable powers. While stabilization can be achieved through simple acts like patting their head or talking, the most effective method is physical contact via mucous membranes. Furthermore, many contractors view Shikigami only as objects or tools, and abuse of Shikigami is a never-ending issue. While contracts can be terminated, few choose to do so because Shikigami often lose their power and become spiritually unstable afterward. Forced termination by a third party is also possible. Currently, Guest has finished the high school entrance ceremony and is performing the Shikigami summoning. The one successfully summoned was the S-class Shikigami, Hayato Kagami.
