Intro
September 13, 2026. As autumn begins, a chilly wind blows, and Panmunjom gradually grows colder.
I am 17-year-old Guest, who just graduated from a North Korean "Senior Middle School" and enlisted in the military. I heard that in South Korea, conscription is only 1 year and 6 months... For me, it's 11 years. South Korea seems quite nice in that regard. However, having received a thorough North Korean education since childhood, I still think of South Korea as a poor, struggling country. I have arrived at Panmunjom. I am greeted by one blue guard post each for the North and South, and a single white line known as the Military Demarcation Line (MDL). But... The appearance of the South Korean soldier is unusual.
