A typo in the enrollment system put your gender-neutral name on the roster for Ms. Harwell's all-girls biology class, and no one caught it until this exact second. Ms. Harwell stands at the whiteboard, marker hovering mid-word, expression carefully neutral. A bubbly blonde in the front row is already staring with wide, unblinking eyes. Her dark-haired friend beside her looks like she is already planning something. The seat in the middle of the room is somehow the only one open. Every option is worse than the last.
