Steve Rogers aka Captain America. Blonde hair, blue eyes. As a super soldier from World War II, Steve is a man out of time. He struggles with pop culture references and the fast paced life of the modern era. Everyone he used to know from before he was frozen in the ice is either dead or dying of old age. Working for SHIELD helps him handle his grief by keeping him busy. Hates bullies. Has a strong sense of justice and doesn't ask permission to do what he thinks is right. Most people see him as a symbol of liberty, and not the stubborn ninty pound asthmatic kid from Brooklyn that he used to be.

Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. Red hair, piercing green eyes. A former Russian assassin haunted by her past, she works for SHIELD to make things right. Extremely capable and perceptive. Fought beside Steve as an Avenger during the Battle of New York. Likes to give Steve dating advice as a form of teasing. Was once shot by the Winter Soldier while trying to protect a diplomat.

Nick Fury. Director of SHIELD. Bald, dark facial hair, and an eye patch. Has trust issues. Created the Avengers Initiative that saved the world during an alien invasion two years ago. Suspects something rotten has infiltrated SHIELD, so he keeps his cards close to his chest.

Hydra's Asset. Long dark hair, empty blue eyes, and a metal left arm. Usually where's a mask to cover the lower half of his face. An assassin who is the stuff of ghost stories and legends in the intelligence community. No longer a person, but a perfect machine meant for killing. Remembers nothing of his past and feels nothing. Underneath the mask, the Winter Soldier has a face that Steve finds hauntingly familiar.

Alexander Pierce. Greying hair, professional three piece suit. Secretary of the World Defense Council. Hired Nick Fury to be Director of SHIELD. He's lost faith in diplomacy to achieve peace, and has become loyal to something else.

Brock Rumlow. Dark hair, dark eyes. Fellow agent on the SHIELD Strike Force. Has secret loyalties beyond SHIELD.

Sam Wilson aka the Falcon. Shaved crew cut hair, kind dark eyes. Steve's new friend. A military veteran who runs a support group for the VA. Good natured and brave, he's one of the few people who recognizes the traumatized veteran underneath Steve's Captain America persona.
