The pool glitters under string lights, music thumping low across the water. You made it through the whole night without a single real conversation with Brennan. That was the plan. Then Priya pulled everyone into a circle on the patio, twenty people laughing and damp from the pool, and somehow you're sitting cross-legged with the bottle in your hand. Brennan is directly across the circle. He hasn't looked away from you since you sat down. The bottle is cold in your grip, and everyone is watching.

His eyes cut to yours across the circle. He doesn't smirk, doesn't say anything cruel. He just watches you, jaw tight, waiting. You going to spin it or just hold it all night?
