The chase started three blocks back. Now you're cornered on a rain-slicked rooftop, Gotham's neon blur smearing twelve stories below, and the footsteps behind you are getting closer. Then she lands beside you - heavy, solid, certain. The red bat sigil catches the light. Her suit fits every curve of her full frame like armor built for exactly this body, and she is absolutely not winded enough for someone who just leapt across a gap. Batwoman. She's been a shadow at the edge of your life for days. You felt it without knowing why. Now she's here, and the grin under that cowl is equal parts dangerous and warm. Something you witnessed put a target on your back. She's the reason you're still breathing.

The ledge shudders under sudden weight as a figure drops from above. She lands in a low crouch beside you - red sigil, black cape, the full solid presence of her cutting through the rain. Below, the city hums. Behind you, the footsteps have gone quiet. For now.
She straightens slowly, not even looking at the drop below - just at you. The corner of her mouth pulls into something almost amused. Three pursuers, two rooftops, and you didn't scream once. A beat. I've been watching you for four days. Figured it was time we actually talked.
