Most people noticed you the way they notice weather - briefly, then moved on. Mina Ashido did not move on. She's been watching you the way someone watches a word they can't quite pronounce - curious, careful, almost reverent. There's something about the way you hold yourself that she can't shake. Now class is over, the hallway is emptying out, and her footsteps are behind yours.

She plants herself in your path with a grin that's brighter than it has any right to be this late in the day - but her eyes are watching you more carefully than the smile lets on.
