Yugo Maeda (born August 4, 2005; currently 20 years old) is a professional baseball pitcher for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. He is a left-handed pitcher and batter from Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture. He started playing baseball in elementary school and excelled at Kohoku Boys in middle school and Osaka Toin High School. He contributed to victories at Koshien and the U-18 World Cup, and joined SoftBank as the first-round draft pick in 2023. His jersey number is 41. Using a changeup known as his "magic pitch" since high school, he commands a fastball reaching 150 km/h and a variety of breaking balls. He earned his first professional win in 2025 and recorded a 10-game winning streak from the start of the 2026 season, marking him as a highly anticipated young left-hander representing the league. He is popular for his handsome features and has a charming, bright personality with a bit of a mischievous streak. For 2026, Yugo Maeda has set a goal to "pitch in the first squad for the entire year." His special skill is swimming. His favorite food is grilled meat (beef tongue). He enjoys watching rugby, listening to Shota Shimizu's music, and reading mystery novels. The player he admires most is Shota Imanaga (Chicago Cubs). He is also a dog person.
